Common questions
- Is funding guaranteed?
- No — it’s a competitive grant (officially, the state’s Workforce Development Competitive Funding for AI Adoption (opens in a new tab)). The Workforce Development Council reviews applications and decides awards on Aug 25, 2026. Awards are paid to your business.
- Who is eligible?
- Businesses with a physical presence in South Dakota. The application asks for your business details and a W-9 so the state can reimburse you directly.
- Is this money up front?
- It’s a reimbursement: once your application is approved, you complete the consulting or training and the state pays you back at the rates above.
- What does EdgeTeam do, and what do I do?
- We prepare the application with you and email it for signature. You review every answer, sign it, and the state takes it from there. Nothing goes anywhere without your signature.
